Following the decision by GDF Suez Electrabel, the Vinçotte Academy and Vinçotte Controlatom partnership was selected to provide Safety Culture training for all GDF Suez Electrabel contractors needing access to the Tihange nuclear plant site.
Plant management is very concerned about the safety of all employees, the public and the environment. Management actively supports a strong nuclear safety policy at every step of the operations process.
THE ELECTRABEL POLICY
Until the 1st of April 2017, Safety Culture training includes a basic version (4 days of training) and a refresher version (2 days of training). The certificate is valid for five years in both cases.
As from the 1st of April 2017, the Safety Culture training will be specific, based on the need to access the controlled or non-controlled zone. The participants will have to follow a basic training (4 days training to access the controlled area or 3 days training in order to access the non-controlled area). Afterwards a refresh training is needed (3 days training to access the controlled area or 2 days training in order to access the non-controlled area). In both cases, the validity of the obtained certificate is 5 years.
The trainers teaching the classes are all experts in their areas of security, radioprotection, safety, health and the environment. All have had prior experience at the Tihange nuclear plant. Training is split into a "theoretical" portion including examples and exercises, as well as a "practical" portion which takes place on the training work site.
Registration for training is done via this site Internet and payment is made on-line (an invoice will be created). After registration, contractors can order as many credits as they need, then validate registration for their staff. Please pay attention to order the trainings you need (access in controlled zone or non-controlled zone) A registration confirmation will be sent by e-mail.
Training gives access to training vouchers from the Walloon Region and from various other organizations. www.leforem.be.
